Raiders come up empty against Hicks, Jr. Sens

Despite their best efforts, the Nepean Raiders were unable to beat Ottawa Jr. Senators goalie Connor Hicks on Wed. night, falling 4-0.

Hicks’ 26-save shutout was his third on the season. Owen Guy had two goals and an assist while Pierre-Luc Veillette added two points of his own for Ottawa.

Coming off a win in Smiths Falls on Tues., Raiders’ netminder Kyle Alaverdy was solid despite the loss. Alaverdy stopped 41 of the 45 shots that came his way.

The game was a physical one that turned chippy at times, with 23 total penalties dished out by the referees. Raider forward Alex Bourhas was issued a game misconduct for a check to the head early in the second period.

This loss brings the Nepean Raiders’ record to (16-25-2-3), they’re in Hawkesbury on Fri.
