Arseneau named to Eastern Canada Cup roster

Nepean forward Malcolm Arseneau was named to the CCHL White roster for the Eastern Canada Cup on Wed.

Arseneau is the Raiders’ leading scorer with 20 points through 19 games this season, his second with the team.

Held over Nov. 13-15, the cup will see all-star teams from the OJHL, QJHL, MHL and NOJHL play in 40 min. games in front of scouts.

“I’m honoured to be named to this all-star team. I can’t thank my teammates and coaching staff enough for pushing me everyday to become a better player and person,” Arseneau said.

The format has been around since 2011 and this year’s games will be held at Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens, home of the OJHL’s Trenton Golden Hawks.

Raiders forwards Geoff Dempster and Antoine Belisle, Arseneau’s linemate, were named to last year’s cup, for “Team Yzerman.”

“I got off to a hot start this year, being a veteran in the league I knew what to expect from the first game of the season,” Arseneau said.

“I’m thankful for playing alongside two players (Belisle and Liam Stagg) who recognize my strengths and weaknesses on the ice and work with me to be successful.”

Head trainer Sheldon Adams and equipment manager Carmelo Pugliese were also named to the CCHL White personnel.
