The Raiders defeat the Nationals 4-2

The Nepean Raiders’ offense had a big night, peppering the Rockland Nationals with 32 shots throughout the game. The Nepean Raiders took the lead early in the third on a goal from Olivier Gauthier.

Olivier Gauthier contributed with 2 goals and Geoff Dempster delivered for his team with 2 goals.

During the first, Shields ‘c’opened the scoring for Rockland with a goal at 13:57 with assists from Power and Blanchette. Gauthier quickly followed with a goal at 15:47 with helpers from his linemates, Bourhas and Belisle.

In the second, Boyer answered for the Nationals with a goal at 3:38 with an assist from his teammate Beatty. Dempster answered for the Raiders with a goal at 8:56 with helpers from his linemates, Mattawashish and Stagg.

In the third period, Gauthier netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 0:20 with assists from Belisle and Browning. Dempster scored a goal at 19:10 with a helper from Stagg.

Nepean’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Souliere’s big night as he stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced. Souliere’s counterpart, Storr, also had a big night, managing to stop 28 of 31, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Nepean Raiders’ record to (20-30-2-4).
