The Raiders defeat the Colts 2-1

It’s over! The Nepean Raiders snapped their losing skid at six games, holding on to defeat the Cornwall Colts 2-1.

Call-up (CCHL2) Joey Laird and Alex Bourhas scored for Nepean, rebounding nicely after a horrid 7-0 loss to Ottawa on Sun.

The Raiders’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Liam Souliere’s big night, stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced. It’s Souliere’s 10th win on the year.

A shorthanded goal by the Colts’ Brennan Markell brought Cornwall back within one, but a staunch defensive effort by Nepean held down the fort.

Colts’ coach Ian MacInnis appeared frustrated with his squad’s effort, making his players bag skate immediately after the game.

This win brings the Nepean Raiders’ record to 17-29-2-4. They’ll host Kanata on Sun.
