Raiders Outshot Braves in Goaltender’s Duel

The Nepean Raiders travelled to the Brockville Memorial Centre to see the Brockville Braves for the last time this season. In their last game, Nepean put on a clinic as they thrashed the Pembroke Lumber Kings 12-5. Meanwhile the Brockville Braves came of a big loss to the Kemptville 73s.

For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant go the start for the Raiders and Austin Cally was in goal for the Brockville Braves.

Despite allowing the first two goals of the game from Jesse Lumsden and Kimani Eccleston, Otsirakatste Brant put on a master class as he stopped eleven of the thirteen shots he faced in the period itself.

Although there were no goals to report in the second period, the Nepean Raiders had great scoring chances including a one time shot of a canon from Mack McKee only for Austin Cally to slam the door shut.

The trend of wonderful scoring chances continued for Nepean in the third period as Jack Yates fired pad save to have Austin Cally stretch out to make the save. Also late in the third period, Tristan Konobelj went five hole also to have Austin Cally stretch out to make the save.

Brockville ultimately closed out the scoring on Kayden Buller’s empty net goal.

For the three star selection, following a 35 save performance Austin Cally was rewarded the first star of the game for the Brockville Braves, for the game winning goal it was Jesse Lumsden that nabbed the second star of the game for Brockville and Otsirakatste Brant who was great in goal for the Raiders stopping 25 of the 27 shots he faced was given the third star of game.

Nepean’s next game is on Sunday March 8th when the Renfrew Wolves come to town.
