The Nepean Raiders came back home to face off against the Pembroke Lumber Kings for their Wednesday night tilt. This game featured two teams coming off losses. For example, Nepean came into this game hoping to move forward from a 7-1 loss to the Carleton Place Canadians. The Lumber Kings on the other hand fell short to the Renfrew Wolves 4-2.
For the starting goalies, Evan Grant got the start in goal for Nepean and Jack Ferguson got the call from Pembroke.
The Raiders began the game by putting up goals in a hurry. They scored three goals from Jack Yates, Julian Kemp and Lucas Leblanc. If that’s not enough, Nepean outshot Pembroke 17-12.
In the second period, Tristan Konobelj scored twice and Cooper Grant and Lucas Leblanc the former Junior Senators scored his tenth of the year as well. The only goals for the Lumber Kings in that period were from Oliver Lapointe, Evan Greco and Maxim Delage.
Nepean took over the third period when they scored three time from Rowan Cantrell. The only other goal scorers from Nepean were from Ryan Kinghan and Tyler Smith. The only goal for the Lumber Kings was from Soloman Tucker as the Nepean Raiders put on a great show to win by a score 12-5.
Eight different players for Nepean put up multiple point performances.
For the three star selections, for his hat-trick Rowan Cantrell was given the first star for the Nepean Raiders, for his six point game, Tristan Konobelj was rewarded the second star of the game for Nepean and having scored his team leading 22nd goal of the season it was Evan Greco who was handed the third star for the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
Nepean’s next game will take place on Friday, March 6th when they visit the Brockville Braves at Brockville Memorial Centre.
