The Raiders defeat the Lasers 5-3

Logan Bateman came up big, stopping 56 of 59 shots throughout the game. The Nepean Raiders took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Josh Shimizu.

Alexander Bourhas had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Luca Nocita chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Felix Tourigny delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Dempster opened the scoring for Nepean with a goal at 2:36 with a helper from Bourhas. Binnie deposited a goal at 15:42.

In the second, Nocita finally put the Lasers on the board with a goal at 10:40 with a helper from defenseman Michel. Bourhas answered for the Raiders with a goal at 19:38 with assists from his linemates, Horvath and Larkin.

During the third, Tourigny answered for Kanata with a goal at 3:42 with helpers from his linemates, Nocita and Smith. Shimizu answered for Nepean with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:16 with an assist from defenseman Winn. Bourhas netted a goal at 19:13. Denomme quickly followed with a goal at 19:51 with helpers from his teammates Markhauser and Tourigny.

The Raiders’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Bateman’s big night as he stopped 56 of the 59 shots he faced. On the other hand, Bateman’s counterpart, Tourigny, and Kanata’s defense did not have such a great night stopping only 13 of 17 shots.

This win brings the Nepean Raiders’ record to (3-5-0-0).
