Raiders Pick Up St. Onge From Cornwall

by Tommy Young

Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders have completed a trade with the Cornwall Colts, acquiring 2005-born defenceman Mason St. Onge in exchange for a Player Development Fee.

St. Onge, hailing from south of the border in Aldie, Virginia, is a big, strong right-shot defenceman. A 60-game player for South Kent School’s U18 Prep program last season, he put up a career-high fourteen points during his time in South Kent, including two goals, before heading north for his first season in Canada.

So far this year for Cornwall, St. Onge has one assist in 15 games, utilizing his 6’2” frame defensively to shut down opponents and turn the puck back the other way.

We are very excited for Mason to join our defensive core! His physicality and skill will be a fantastic addition to our penalty kill.

General Manager Lino Dixon gave this statement on the acquisition:

“Mason is a dependable, high character player with size and smarts that will help stabilize our group. We are thrilled to get this type of player/person combo into our room.”

He will wear #8 in the Black and Red.

Welcome to Nepean, Mason!
