Raiders Acquire Band From NAHL

by Tommy Young

Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders have completed a trade with the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League, acquiring veteran 2003-born forward Oliver Band in exchange for a Player Development Fee.

Band, originally hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, has racked up 5 goals and 5 assists through 32 games with the Wilderness to begin the season. He is in his second season in the NAHL, having been the Alternate Captain of the Philadelphia Rebels last season, where he put up 6 goals and 8 assists through the 54 game season; he also completed a season in the SJHL in 2021-22 with the Notre Dame Hounds, sniping 8 goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 48 games, and added another goal in 5 playoff games.

Band is a dominant offensive player with a lethal shot and great vision, putting up 20 goals and 53 points back in 2019-20 with the Team Illinois U16 AAA team. His big frame and great release will be a fantastic addition to the Raiders’ forward corps, and we can’t wait to see him in the Black and Red!

Welcome to Nepean, Oliver!
