Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders are proud to announce that 2005-born forward Carter Williamson has signed with the team for the 2024/25 season.
Williamson, a Nepean native, joins the Raiders for his second Jr. A season after spending the 2023-24 campaign in the OJHL with the Cobourg Cougars. Only appearing in 24 contests, Williamson scored five times and added four assists, as well as scoring a pair of goals in 8 playoff games. Returning to the Ottawa area, Williamson’s last season in the Valley was a 42-game, 52-point season for the EOJHL’s Smiths Falls Jr. Bears.
The 5’11”, 174-point forward is an elite shooter, excelling at finding an angle to get a shot off under pressure. Despite only appearing in 4 of the Raiders’ 6 preseason games, Williamson found the scoresheet four times – three of them in the 5-2 win against Brockville – and assisted on three further goals to lead the Raiders in points with 7. This also tied him for 2nd league-wide in points, and his four goals ranked tied with five others for the league lead.
A graduate of the Nepean Minor Hockey Association, Williamson climbed quickly through the ranks, going from U14 B and U15 B prior to the Covid-19 pandemic to the U18 AA team in 21-22. We are very excited to have him return home!
General Manager Lino Dixon loved the energy Carter brought on and off the ice:
“Carter is one of those guys that makes you excited to come to the rink. He’s going to be not only a great addition on the ice, but also in our room as an older voice and who wants to win. He’s earned everything he’s got in hockey, the type of guy that others will follow into battle. We can’t wait for him to be in Black and Red.”
Welcome back to Nepean, Carter!
