Raiders Sign 6’5″ Defenceman Landon Poe

by Tommy Young

Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders are proud to announce that 2006-born defenceman Landon Poe has signed with the team for the 2024/25 season.

Poe, a 6’5” right-handed defender from White Lake, Michigan, is a defensively-minded player with tremendous physicality. Coming north of the border from the Victory Honda U18 organization in Plymouth, Michigan, Poe is a huge addition to the Raiders roster, joining 6’4” Bo Doxtator, 6’4” Owen Kinghan, and 6’2” Liam Carroll on the blue line.

This past season with Victory Honda, Poe skated in 60 contests, putting up a goal and 16 assists offensively. His size and physicality are his main strengths, using his edgework and strength to cut off opposing attacks and deliver punishing body checks.

Poe appeared in four preseason games for the Raiders, never cracking the scoresheet offensively but making his presence known physically. We’re very excited to have him join the Black and Red.

General Manager Lino Dixon was excited to add Poe to the defence corps:

“Anytime you can add a 6’5 right handed D man, you need to look at it seriously. We were very excited to add him to our back end. He moves well and has some sneaky skill. He will be tough to play against every night and will take big strides this year.”

Welcome to Nepean, Landon!
