The Nepean Raiders came back to the Nepean Sportsplex Steve Yzerman Arena following a successful two game road trip in which they went 2-0 following wins in Cornwall and Brockville. Meanwhile, the Rockland Nationals won two of their games on their three game road trip.
Notably, the game featured two teams who wanted to end the month of September with a bang!
For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant who is 2-0 in goal got the start for the Raiders while Jack Carter who was formidable in a 7-1 win over Cornwall got the start today.
Just like the previous game in Brockville, the goalies have been brilliant in the first period. The only goal to report in that period alone was Felix Cadran who scored his first goal of the season assisted from Alexander Alain and Felix’s twin brother Alexis. Although Rockland outshot Nepean 15-8, Otsirakatste Brant was tremendous stopping 14 of the 15 shots in that frame.
The second period was all Nepean Raiders as Adam Walker scored twice in the period. The other goals were from Benjamin Carr and Brayden Blyth who each scored their second goals of the season. The only goal was from Lucas Bertolin which was third goal of the season on the powerplay. Felix Cadran and Jeremy Belleau got the assists.
Nepean scored the last two goals from Hunter Ncwana and Ryan English to cap off a great month of September for the Raiders. They didn’t want the month to be over.
For the three star selections, having scored twice in the game and maybe an early candidate for CCHL’s MVP Adam Walker has been rewarded the first star of the game for Nepean. For his three assist effort Owen Kinghan was granted the second star of the game for the Raiders and finally, Felix Cadran who scored a goal and an assist is the third star for the Rockland Nationals.
Nepean will enjoy the rest of the week off before hosting the Kemptville 73s for Day One of the CCHL’s Fall Showcase at the Steve Yzerman Arena on Saturday October 3rd for a 4:00PM puck drop.
