The Nepean Raiders travelled to the Brockville Memorial Centre ahead of a WILD snowstorm in the Brockville area. The Raiders came up just short against the Navan Grads and as for the Braves they came up just short against the Cornwall Colts.
For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant got the start for the Raiders and Austin Caley was in goal for the Braves.
The first period was filled was so many incredible saves from both the Raiders and Braves combined! In fact the only goal to report in the first period was Kimani Eccleston which was his fifth goal of the season assisted from Dryden Darvish and Antoine D’arcy.
Although Nepean was outshot 16-8, Otsirakatste Brant was exceptional for the Raiders stopping fifteen shots in the period.
The second period was all Brockville as Jesse Lumsden, Ryan McNally and Dryden Darvish got the goals for Brockville. The Raiders would get on the scoreboard as a result of Jack Yates shorthanded goal fourteenth of the season.
Nepean made things interesting in the third period when Yates scored again shorthanded which was his fifteenth goal of the season. The Gloucester Ontario native has points in three of the last four. Notably, both of his goals were scored shorthanded. What a run he’s on!
Brockville would close out the scoring as a result of Aidan Corlan’s empty net goal and his thirteenth goal of the year.
For the three star selection, for his one goal and two assist performance, Kimani Eccleston was named the first star of the game Brockville Braves, for his 37 save performance Austin Caley was named the second star of the game for Brockville and finally for his two goal outing, Jack Yates was rewarded the third star of the game for the Nepean Raiders.
Nepean’s next game will take place on Sunday January 18th when they visit the Pembroke Lumber Kings for a 7:00PM puck drop.
