by Romano Di Franco

The Nepean Raiders began a season high four game road trip by travelling to the CIHA Arena 1 to see the Rockland Nationals. Nepean came off a fantastic outing against the Pembroke Lumber Kings when they cruised to a 6-3 victory over the Pembroke Lumber Kings.

For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant got the start in goal while Kayden Newton was in goal for Rockland.

Although the Rockland Nationals scored the first two goals from Gabriel Le Houlier and Vital Dinis, Brant was great in goal stopping 13 of the 15 shots he faced in that first period.

The only goal to report in the second period from Gabriel Le Houlier’s second goal of the game and his league leading 46th goal of the season assisted from Vital Dinis.

Nepean made things interesting in the third period when they scored goals from Jack Yates and Noah Bath. As for Bath’s goal this was his eighth goal of the campaign and his third goal in two games.

Rockland closed out the scoring from Alex Kelloway’s twenty fourth goal of the year assisted from Justin Garneau.

For the three star selections, for his three point performance, Gabriel Le Houllier was rewarded the first star of the game, for his one goal and two assist outing Vital Dinis was given the second star of the game for the Nats and finally for his one goal and one assist game, Noah Bath was named the third star of the game for the Raiders.

Nepean’s next game will take place on Sunday, February 1st when they visit the Navan Grads and the Navan Memorial Centre.
