Tellier Scores Twice in Barnburner to Smiths Falls

The Nepean Raiders welcomed the Smiths Falls Bears at the Nepean Sportsplex for the third meeting of the season. Nepean came off an entertaining game against the Brockville Braves in which they fell a bit short. Meanwhile the Smiths Falls Bears edged out on the Navan Grads 3-1.

For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant was in goal for the Raiders and Ayo Ogini got the start for the Smiths Falls Bears.

The first period saw Nepean and Smiths Falls exchanging goals in the first period. Gus Rabe and Kade Hockenhull each got the goals for the Smiths Falls Bears. On the other hand, Karsten Barbeau scored his first career CCHL goal assisted from Ryan Kinghan and Rowan Cantrell.

The second period saw the Raiders and the Bears continue to fire goals at each other. For the Nepean Raiders, Tyler Smith and Raphael Tellier each scored goals for Nepean. As for the Smiths Falls Bears, Kade Hockenhull scored twice which was the hat-trick. Tyson Parker and Jackson Heron got the other goals for the Smiths Falls Bears.

Twenty seven seconds into the third period, Raphael Tellier scored his second goal of the game and his eleventh goal of the season assisted from Carter Williamson and Anthony Bertrand. The Smiths Falls Bears took over for the rest of third period as Peyton Velkamp scored twice. The other goals for the Bears were from Jonathon Dudziak, Caeden Heins, Brayden Childerhose and Jackson Heron.

For the three star selection, for the hat-trick, Kade Hockenhull was given the third star for the Bears, for his five point performance Jackson Heron was named the second star for Smiths Falls. Last but not least, Raphael Tellier was rewarded the third star for the Nepean Raiders as a result of his two goal performance.

Nepean’s next game will take place on Sunday December 14th against the Carleton Place Canadians for a 3:00PM puck drop.
