by Romano Di Franco

The Nepean Raiders travelled to the Rockland Arena Pad 1 for their penultimate game of their exhibition portion of the season for their game against the Nationals. This is the second of their home and home set against the reigning Bogart Cup Champions. For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant got the start in goal for the Nepean Raiders whereas Lincoln Molind got the nod for the Nats.

Nepean began the game with some great chances to get on the board in the first period when Owen Kelly went on a two on zero break away, but Molind got a piece of the shot with his blocker.

The only goal in the first period was when Daniel Myloserdnyy scored on the powerplay assisted from Mavrick Brunet and Mathys Laurent.

Despite being outshot 14-6 in the first period, Otsirakatste Brant was great in the first period stopping 13 of the fourteen shots.

The second period was all Rockland as Mavrick Brunet scored twice and Dylan Allie got the only other goal for the Nats. The Raiders responded on a goal from Tyler Smith. His tally came from a crazy bounce that fooled Lincoln Molind.

The only goal form the third period came from Gabriel Le Houillier with Daniel Myloserdnyy assisting on the marker. Nepean had a couple of quality chances in the third period. Mack Mckee who is one of the newcomers for the Nepean Raiders shot a canon in front of Molind from a Rockland Nationals turnover. At the end of the third period, it looked though as the Raiders scored their second goal of the game when Mikayil Kahriman tucked one home. It turns out that the puck was in Lincoln Molind’s equipment.

The three star section are as follows: With two goals and one assist in the game, Mavrick Brunet was named as the first star of the game for Rockland. Daniel Myloserdnyy was named the seocnd star for his one goal and two assist performance and Gabriel Le Houillier who also scored one goal and two assists was the third star.
