The Nepean Raiders made it to the Rockland Arena Pad 2 for Day Two of the CCHL’s Showcase. This time around their opponent was the Carleton Place Canadians.
For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant who made a fantastic 37 saves yesterday got the start in goal for the Raiders. Liam Conway got the call for the Canadians.
Carleton Place got on the board first a minute and thirty three seconds into the game as a result from Truan Conrad’s sixth goal of the season. Nathan Landriault and Graydon Mears got the assists. This first period was otherwise filled with spectacular saves made by Brant and Conway respetviely.
These goalies were equally great in the second period. In fact, the only goal to report in the second period Bowden Beal’s first career CCHL goal. Graydon Mears with his second point of the game got the assist as does Jordan Perrier.
The Raiders got on the board in the third period when Tyler Smith deposited his eleventh goal of the season assisted from Julian Kemp and Spender Thompson. It was his fourth goal in five games for the Navan Ontario native.
The Canadian restored their two goal lead on an empty netter from Carter Cooling assisted from Truan Conrad and Graydon Mears. Nepean wasn’t done yet as Raphael Tellier netted his thirteenth goal of the campagin assisted form Lucas Leblanc and Spencer Thompson.
Things got crazy as the final buzzer sounded when the Raiders and the Canadians engaged each other in a bench clearing brawl to cap off a game that could have gone either way.
For the three star selections, Truan Conrad’s one goal and one assist garnered him the first star of the game. Graydon Mears’ three assist performance earned him the second star of the game for the Carleton Place Canadians and Spencer Thompson’s two assist performance rewarded him the third star of the game.
Nepean’s next game will take place on January 2nd when they visit the Hawkesbury Hawks. It will also be the first game of the 2026 portion.
