The Nepean Raiders travelled to the North Greenville Municipal Centre to conclude their mini two game road trip against the Kemptville 73s.

The Nepean Raiders came off an intense shootout in which they fell short to the Carleton Place Canadians. The 73s also fell short to the Carleton Place Canadians as well.

For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant who was great once again for the Nepean Raiders got the call in goal and Rylan Donovan as in goal for Kemptville.

Nepean got off to a terrific start to the game as they got goals from Nicholas Larkin and Luka Benoit. Notably, both goals came on the powerplay. The 73s refused to go down without a fight as Anthony Dirienzo scored just before the first period ended. Lucas Achim and Cade Campbell got the assists on the marker.

Despite being outshot 10-9 in that first period, the Raiders had a lead to enjoy of 2-1.

Like the first period, the Raiders got off to a sizzling beginning in that second period as Jack Yates scored twice in that period. Rylan Donovan was yanked following the second goal by Yates and was replaced by Keegan Carswell.

As for the Kemptville 73s instead of folding in that period, they only got stronger as they scored goals from Cooper Grant and Alexis Beaulieu receptively.

Although Nepean got outshot in the second by a margin of 19-11, the Raiders still had a lead to enjoy of 4-3.

A minute and nineteen seconds into the third period, Luka Benoit scored his second goal of the game to help the Raiders restore their two goal cushion. Five seconds later, Cooper Grant scored his second goal of the game, but it wasn’t enough as Lucas Leblanc closed out the scoring with an empty netter and his fourth of the season.

Keegan Carswell took the loss out of relief while Otsirakatste Brant won his second straight in goal.

For the three star selections, with his five point performance, Luka Benoit was named the game’s first star for the Raiders, for his two goal performance, Cooper Grant was rewarded the second star of the game for the 73s and finally, with one goal and two assists Nicholas Larkin was named the third star for the Raiders.

Nepean’s next game will take place on Sunday, November 16th when the Hawkesbury Hawks come to town in the Sportsplex.
