Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders are proud to announce that 2006-born forward Tristan Konobelj has signed with the team for the 2024/25 season.
Konobelj, born in Kranj, Slovenia, has played junior hockey all across Europe, including stops in his native Slovenia, Czechia, and Hungary. This past season, Konobelj played for the Budapest Jégkorong Akadémia in Budapest, Hungary, sniping eight goals and adding 7 assists assists for 15 points in only 10 games.
Konobelj was a recent attendee of Raiders main camp, and he adjusted immediately to the smaller, North American ice. Tristan sniped a trio of goals over the weekend for Team Red, including one that banked off the crossbar. He showed off his quick acceleration and ability to create space for himself, stealing the puck from defenders and taking away passing lanes.
Through four preseason games in the Black and Red, Tristan ranked second on the team in points, with three goals and three assists. He made his presence known, as he worked his way onto the power play and sniped two of his goals on the man advantage – including the game-winning marker on Wednesday against Brockville.
Tristan also holds the distinction of being the first Slovenian-born Nepean Raider in team history.
Welcome to Nepean, Tristan!
