Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders are proud to announce that 2008-born goaltender Otsirakatste Brant has signed with the team for the 2024/25 season.
‘Katste’, born in Belleville, Ontario, spent his junior career climbing the ranks within the Quinte Red Devils organization. This past season with the U16 AAA squad, he played in 18 regular season games, posting a pair of shutouts and a 2.38 goals-against average. In the Red Devils playoff run, ‘Katste’ played 7 playoff games, adding another shutout and a 3.07 GAA.
Heading north to begin his junior career, ‘Katste’ attended Raiders fall camp, and was tied for 5th among all goaltenders at camp with a .881sv% as his Team Grey finished with a 2-1-1 record.
In three preseason appearances, ‘Katste’ made 18 saves on 19 shots in the opener against Trenton, 19 saves on 21 shots in the lone game at Yzerman Arena against Brockville, and 8 saves on just 10 shots in a 5-2 win over Carleton Place at the RE/MAX Hamre Cup in Rockland. He led all Raiders goaltenders with a .902sv% and 2.61 GAA in 115 minutes of action.
