by Tommy Young

Nepean, ON – This evening, more than 100 of the Ottawa Valley’s best prospects heard their name called at the Nepean Sportsplex as the 2025 CCHL Draft was held. The Raiders held twelve total draft selections, as well as two “protect” picks and one compensatory selection, for a total of 15 players.

The Draft began with each team submitting two “protect” selections. These picks are designed to ensure teams have local prospects, as these picks must contain players registered to within each team’s “boundary”. With these picks, the Raiders selected Karsten Barbeau and Jack Malandra from Ottawa Myers Auto.

Nepean also acquired three other picks – two 2nd-round selections and a 9th-round selection (#20 from Pembroke via a trade with Renfrew; #24 via trade with Rockland; and #108 via trade with Rockland) – and traded one away, a 10th-round selection to the Hawkesbury Hawks.
