Nepean Raiders Defeat Carleton Place Canadians 5-2 in Dominant Performance

The Nepean Raiders took control early in their 5-2 victory over the Carleton Place Canadians on September 7, 2024.

Nepean’s power-play was lethal, with Dylan Turcotte, Tristan Konobelj, and Jack Yates all scoring in quick succession to give the Raiders a commanding 3-0 lead. Konobelj’s effort came on a shot from the point that found the top of the net.

In the second period Tyler Smith extended the lead to 4-0 before Carleton Place’s Jaedon Hirtie responded with a power-play goal. Despite this, Nepean’s Peter Freel restored the 4-goal lead on a beautiful wrap-around goal before Gabe Bergeron added another power-play goal for Carleton Place.

The final period was scoreless, as Nepean’s defense locked down their win.

Nepean outshot Carleton Place 31-10, and while both teams struggled with penalties (Nepean 40 PIM, Carleton Place 16 PIM), Nepean’s early offensive outburst secured the victory.
