The Nepean Raiders continued their lengthy road swing by visiting the Renfrew Wolves. Nepean came off a fantastic game in which they came up just a bit short having lost in a shootout against the Navan Grads. On the other hand, the Wolves would be shut out by the Kemptville 73s 3-0.
For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant got the start for the Nepean Raiders and Ayo Ogini got the start for the Renfrew Wolves.
The first period was all Renfrew Wolves as they scored goals from Kingston Harris, Kyle Cameron, Riley Streska and Joshua Lalande.
Although the Wolves added another goal from Kyle Cameron, the Nepean Raiders got a great opportunity to get on the scoreboard when Noah Bath roared in on a breakaway only to be stopped by Ayo Ogini.
This trend of wonderful opportunities continued in the third period for the Raiders, especially when Lucas Leblanc had Ogini beat, but hit the crossbar.
The Wolves closed out the scoring with two goals from Theo Avila. Despite that, the Nepean Raiders killed off all four of the Renfrew Wolves chances on the powerplay.
For the three star selections, for his four assist outing Toby Almstedt was the the first star of the game for the Renfrew Wolves, for his two goal performance Theo Avilla was the second star of the game for the Wolves and with a tremendous job of helping the Raiders on the penalty kill, Ryan English was nabbed the third star of the game for the Nepean Raiders.
Nepean’s next game is in nine days from now as they will see the Ottawa Junior Senators for a Family Day afternoon game.
