Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders have acquired 2004-born forward Nicholas Houben from the GOJHL’s St. Thomas Stars in exchange for a Player Development Fee.
Houben, from Stratford, ON, has played the last two seasons with the Stars, scoring 21 goals and 62 points in 92 games and adding 6 more points in 10 playoff games. He has great leadership experience, wearing the “C” as the team’s captain last season, and he previously wore the “A” as the assistant captain for the Huron Perth Lakers U18 AAA team in 2020-21.
Nick is a strong, dynamic centre who excels in all three zones of the ice, forechecking hard and always driving towards the net. He is an excellent face-off producer, and his well-rounded skill set will be a fantastic addition to the Raiders forward corps.
Nick also recently completed a summer company training course in his hometown of Stratford, and runs Future Hockey Training, an elite private hockey school aiming to coach youth players from age 8 to 14, helping them improve their skills. He has a very bright future, and we’re very excited to have him in Nepean!
Welcome to the Raiders, Nick!
