Nepean, ON – The Nepean Raiders have completed a trade with the Carleton Place Canadians, acquiring 2007-born defenceman Jake Begin in exchange for the rights to 2005-born defenceman Tristan Caldwell.
Begin, from Kanata, Ontario, currently plays U18 AAA for the Ottawa Myers Automotive squad, after spending last season with the Canadians U18 team. Scoring 6 goals and adding 19 assists in 42 games, as well as adding two more assists in 5 playoff games, Begin is a smooth-skating defenceman with a very high offensive upside.
This season, he returns to the Myers Auto organization, where he won the 2021-22 HEO U15 championships, adding 4 goals and 14 points in 25 games that season. He also played two games with the Raiders U18 squad that year, before being drafted in the 5th round by Carleton Place in the 2022 CCHL Bantam draft.
Welcome to Nepean, Jake!
