Raiders acquire F Bourhas from BCHL

The Nepean Raiders have made yet another addition, this time to their forward core, acquiring ’98-born Alex Bourhas.

The 5’9 forward travels east from the BCHL’s Merritt Centennials where he posted five points in 16 games.

“I’m coming to a team that has had interest for a long time now where there’s opportunity to be an immediate impact, play my style of game that has been my identity, and playing for a coach that is supportive of my abilities within the team. Ready for what the future holds in the CCHL and with a good group of guys,” said Bourhas.

Despite joining the team 23 games in, Bourhas said he can quickly play an important part in the Raiders lineup.

“I’d say I play with a ton of heart and high compete level. I’m a speedy skilled offensive forward who is as good a scorer as a playmaker and distributor of the puck. In another dimension I play with a lot of pace, grit and intensity and take pride in winning puck battles, being first to the puck and being tough to play against,” he said.

Though he’s a CCHL newcomer he does have some familiarity with current members of the team. Bourhas played his 15-16 season at Stanstead College with alongside Liam Stagg, Ryan Horvath, Antoine Belisle and Matthew Chan.

Bourhas is originally a native of L’Île-Bizard, QC, just northwest of Montreal.

“I loved Merritt, I am forever grateful for the incredible relationships made and to those who made my time memorable. I had the opportunity to play for a good team, staff and with talented players,” said Bourhas.

Bourhas will likely make his debut at home this Sun. against the Ottawa Jr. Senators.
