The Nepean Raiders visited the Smiths Falls Bears at the Smiths Falls Memorial Centre for their Friday night game. Nepean came into this game following a 5-2 loss to the Carleton Place Canadiens whereas the Bears came off a tough 2-0 loss to the Rockland Nationals. For the starting goalies, John Gedraitis who was played in his first game since November 30th against the Ottawa Junior Senators got the start in goal. Meanwhile the over-ager Ethan Morrow was in net for the Smiths Falls Bears.
It didn’t take long for the Bears to get on the board first as Tyson Parker scored fifty seven seconds into the match. Jack Paquette and Travis Ouellette got the assists. That certainly contributed to Smiths Falls outshooting the Nepean Raiders 16-8 in that first period.
The Bears would add another goal two minutes and fourteen seconds into the second period from Xavier Tessier. Caeden Heins and Marc Antoine Riopel drew the assists. The Raiders weren’t too beat up about it as they got goals from Dylan Pollock and Carter Williamson. Both of the Raiders goals were scored on the powerplay.
The two two tie would be short-lived as Quinn Booth helped Smiths Falls regain the lead and it was the Bears that once again out-shot Nepean 16-8.
In the third period, Quinn Booth would score another goal effectively ending any chances for the Raiders to rally back in the game.
