Papineau Continues Hot Streak In 5-4 Loss to Pembroke

The Nepean Raiders traveled to the Pembroke Memorial Centre for game two of their brief road trip for their game against the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Nepean came into this game having come close against the Hawkesbury Hawks. For the starting goalies John Gedraitis got the start in goal for the Raiders again while Jannes Kamp got the call for the Lumber Kings.

Key Scorers:

  • Pembroke Lumber Kings: Eric Barnard, Jayson Alegria, and Easton Penna played key roles, with Barnard scoring a goal and adding an assist, earning him the first star of the game.
  • Nepean Raiders: Deklyn Campbell contributed a goal and an assist, landing him the third star of the game.

Game Highlights:

  • 1st Period: Eric Barnard opened the scoring early with a power play goal for Pembroke, but Nepean quickly responded with Peter Freel’s equalizer.
  • 2nd Period: Pembroke pulled ahead with goals from Jayson Alegria and Kyle Cameron, both on the power play, while Nepean kept the game close with Deklyn Campbell’s goal.
  • 3rd Period: Easton Penna scored for Pembroke, but Nepean battled back with goals from Nicolas Papineau and Nick Houben, making the final moments intense, but Pembroke held on for the win.

The game featured plenty of physicality, with 34 total penalty minutes, and a balanced offensive effort from both teams.

The Raiders next game will be in a week from today when they return home to faceoff against the Brockville Braves at the Nepean Sportsplex Steve Yzerman Arena for a 2:30PM puck drop.
