Raiders acquire D Noah Rowe in three player deal

The Nepean Raiders continued to reshape their team with a Fri. night blockbuster trade with the Kemptville 73’s.

The trade sees ’98-born D Noah Rowe arriving in Nepean in exchange for F Nick Domitrovic (’99) and D Shawn Timlin (’00). Rowe is the fifth player acquired by the Raiders since the start of the season.

“I’m pretty excited to play (for the Raiders), being a Nepean kid. I get to play close to home on a good team,” Rowe said.

The 6’2 Rowe was in his second full season with the 73’s, all while wearing the “A.” Rowe had seven pts. in 14 games played.

“I’d say I’m a two-way defenseman, good in my own zone but I chip in offensively as well. I like to skate the puck if I can but I’m good at making the first pass out of the zone,” Rowe said.

Nepean head coach Darcy Findlay said this trade came down to finding a player he coveted.

“He’s a perfect fit for our organization, a big body, right shot defenseman that can play big time min. and crucial situations. It allows us to have more depth on the backend,” said Findlay.

“We’re giving away a bit of the future for what we need now but we feel this is something we need to do.”

Domitrovic was in his first full season with the Raiders, and had potted two goals in 13 games. The forward was named the CCHL2’s top rookie in 2016/17.

Timlin has played primarily with the CCHL2’s Ottawa West Golden Knights this season, although he was recently called up for a spot appearance on Wed.

“Nick is a proven player in CCHL2 and if he finds his game at this level he can do a lot of damage. He’s a goal scorer plain and simple,” said Findlay.

“Shawn’s a great defender that reminds me of a young (Nepean co-captain) Corey Tam. Great IQ and character kid.”

Rowe will make his Nepean debut Sun. at home against the Navan Grads.
