McKee Scores Second Goal Against Carleton Place

The Nepean Raiders travelled to the Carleton Place Arena Rink 1 to face off against the Carleton Place Canadians. Nepean was coming into the game with two straight wins following games against Cornwall and Smiths Falls. Carleton Place ended up losing their previous game against the Brockville Braves 5-2.

For the starting goalies, Otsirakatste Brant who was great in his last start against the Cornwall Colts last week was in goal and Charlie Larocque got the start for the hometown Canadians.

Carleton Place got on the board first when Truan Conrad scored his thirteenth goal of the campaign assisted from Alex Culligan and Nathan Landriault. The Raiders tied the game at one from Mack McKee’s third goal of the season assisted from the Kinghan brothers. On top of that, it was McKee’s second goal in three games.

Although the Raiders were outshot 18-15, Otsirakatste Brant was dynamite stopping 17 of the 18 shots he faced in that period.

The second period was all Carleton Place Canadians as Truan Conrad scored his second goal of the game assisted from Carter Cooling and Levi Kossatz. The other goals were from Joe Delvin, Matthew Thompson, Levi Kossatz and Gabriel Bergeron.

Chris Neil closed out the scoring the third period with his sixth goal of the season. The rest of the game saw some rough stuff as part of rivals eb and flow.

The Nepean Raiders are hoping to finish the season strong with two weeks to go.

For the three star selections, for his two goal performance, Truan Conrad was given the first star of the game for Carleton Place, with the only other goal of the game it was Joe Delvin that was named the second star of the game from Carleton Place, and having scored his second goal in three games, Mack McKee was rewarded the third star of the game for Nepean.

Their next game will take place on Wednesday March 4th when they host the Pembroke Lumber Kings.
