The Nepean Raiders travelled to the Jim Durrell Sports Complex for the first game of their home and home set.
For the starting goalies, Evan Grant faced against his old team for the first time since getting traded to the Raiders back on the trade deadline in January. Nicolas Morvan made his 11th CCHL career start in goal.
The first period was filled was some quality opportunities for both sides. The Nepean Raiders dodged a bullet from a hit post from Cedrik St. Pierre. Nevertheless, the shots on goal were eight a piece.
This trend of fantastic chances continued for the Nepean Raiders in the second period as Ryan Kinghan deflected a shot just wide of the post. The only goals to report in the second period were Eric Kane and the former Raider in Raphael Tellier.
Nepean had a wonderful opportunity to get on the board with Nicolas Morvan out of position but kept the puck out!
Ottawa closed at the scoring on Josh Lachapelle’s goal which was his sixth goal of the season and his fourth since joining the Junior Senators in a trade with Rockland.
For the three star selections, for his 23 save performance, Nicolas Morvan was rewarded the first star of the game for the Junior Senators, with one goal and one assist in this game, Josh Lachapelle was the second star of the game for Ottawa and for making 24 saves against his old team, Evan Grant was given the third star of the game for the Nepean Raiders .
Nepean’s next game will take place on Wednesday February 18th for a rematch at the Nepean Sportsplex Steve Yzerman Arena.
