The Nepean Raiders welcomed the Pembroke Lumber Kings to the Nepean Sportsplex for the penultimate game for the month of January. Both teams were looking to move on from their respective losses. For instance, the Pembroke Lumber Kings were fresh off a 7-3 loss to the Navan Grads and the Nepean Raiders were coming off a 11-3 loss to the Rockland Nationals.
Evan Grant got the start for the Nepean Raiders and Jack Ferguson was in net for the Lumber Kings.
Hoping to move on from the blowout loss to Rockland, the Nepean Raiders wasted no time in piling up goals on the Lumber Kings as Noah Bath, Owen Kinghan and Tyler Smith scored the first three goals in the game. The only goals of the first period came from Ryan Turner.
Nepean added two more goals from Bath and Cooper Grant. Speaking of Grant’s goal, it was his fourth goal of the season and his first since joining the Raiders at the trade deadline. The only goal of the second period for the Lumber Kings was from Maxim Delage which was his sixth goal of the campaign.
The only goal to report in the third period was from Jack Yates which was his sixteenth goal of the season and more importantly, Evan Grant won his first game with the Nepean Raiders!
For the three star selections, for his three point performance Noah Bath was named the first star of the game for the Raiders, having scored twice in the game Ryan Turner was the second star of the game for the Lumber Kings and to top it off Cooper Grant was given the third star of the game for his two point outing.
Nepean’s next game will be on January 30th when they visit the Rockland Nationals.
