CJHL All Star Selection
Opportunities
Annual All Star Game
The CJHL offers recognition to individual players as well
holding it's annual All Star Games in January of each year.
This annual classic showcases both rookie and veteran
players by selecting two all star teams from each division.
Every January a host team will put on a All Star Showcase
in which the Yzerman Division rookie all stars take on
the Robinson Division rookie all stars in "Prospects All
Star Challenge".
The feature game is also played at this event in which
the veterans from both the Robinson and Yzerman Divisions
battle head to head in the "CJHL All Star Classic".
In the 2005-06 season the Raiders had goaltender Alexander
Beaudry, defenceman Brad Albert and Julien Demers and right
winger Damian Cross selected to the Prospect All Stars.
Selected to the Veteran All Star team were goaltender
Ian Dams, defencemen Matt Cowie and Chris Gray, right winger
Tim Marks, left wingers Sebastien Panetta and Matt Valois,
center Andrew Mather and coach Chris Byrne.
In total 12 Raiders were selected as all stars for the
all star games.
End of Season All Star Awards
At the end of each season the executive membership
of the league get together and vote on players they
feel have earned the honour of being selected for the
yearly "All Star Selections and Awards". Differing from
the All Star Game selections in that these awards take
the complete seasons performance into account.
These selections
are league wide and not division specific and result in
a first and second all star team which is then honoured
at the annual awards ceremony.
In 2005-06 the Nepean Raiders placed trainer Dan McDowell
on the first all star team and placed Tim MArks and Ian
Dams on the second all star team. We would like to congratulate
each of these winners!
